Trinity Prep (Winter Park) placed five runners in the top-17 to earn the Saints back-to-back team titles (their eighth championship overall) at the 2016 Class 2A Boys Cross Country State Championship from Tallahassee.

Winter Haven goes back to back after coming away with the Class 8A girls basketball title over South Broward (Hollywood) 72-65 during the 2017 state championships. They won the Class 7A title in 2016.

St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park) made it six titles in a row with a 2-0 win over Lakeland Christian at the 2017 Girls Soccer State Championships held at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.

Wildwood smothered South Walton 58-48 to capture its first girls basketball title in school history in the 2017 Class 1A Championship game.

Competition from Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville. The City of Gainesville hosted the 2017 Competitive Cheer State Championships for the first time in the event's history.
