The program is being offered by the NFHS Network, the leader in streaming live and on-demand high school sports, and is created to assist schools facing revenue losses due to restricted attendance at games and other events in light of COVID-19.

The network has allocated more than $200 million in capital for the nationwide project, which is open to eligible schools whose state high school association is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

FHSAA member schools can access additional information and sign up to receive their free Pixellot units at www.nfhsnetwork.com/pixellot.

The Pixellot solution will help high schools stream their athletic events and activities so that fans can follow the action even when unable to be there in person. The NFHS Network will also be assisting schools by increasing its subscription revenue sharing effective August 1, 2020.

“We recognize that the next several years will be challenging for our high schools and state associations,” said Mark Koski, CEO of the NFHS Network. “Many are facing budget cuts and reduced resources, and attendance at athletic and other school events may be restricted. From the NFHS Network’s inception seven years ago, we have been driven by the goal to create a platform that showcases every high school event across every sport and every level of competition. Consistent with this goal, we want the High School Support Program to demonstrate our continued commitment to help our partner schools manage through the inevitable complications created by COVID-19.”

In addition to the free Pixellot equipment and revenue enhancements, the High School Support Program will also offer the ability for fans to donate money to schools of their choosing through the NFHS Network’s platform beginning August 1, 2020.

The NFHS Network provides high schools with a platform to produce and broadcast professional-grade events. The Pixellot automated production solution was introduced to high schools three years ago and has quickly become an integral component of the NFHS Network’s offerings. The Pixellot solution allows every event to be streamed live without requiring personnel to produce the games, thereby eliminating the operational strain created by manual production.

There are currently more than 5,000 Pixellot units in high schools across the country which will produce in excess of 250,000 live games this upcoming school year with no human involvement.

In addition to livestreaming 27 different sports, the NFHS Network also livestreams performing arts, graduations, award ceremonies, and other school events. To date, the NFHS Network’s successful partnerships with participating high schools and state associations have allowed it to distribute over $25 million back to schools and state associations.

For more information about the High School Support Program, please visit www.nfhsnetwork.com/supportprogram.

To sign up to receive your free Pixellot units, go to www.nfhsnetwork.com/pixellot.

About the NFHS Network

The NFHS Network is the leader in streaming live and on-demand high school sports. The NFHS Network covers 27 different regular season and postseason sports, as well as other high school activities, celebrating the accomplishments of students-athletes, student broadcasters, and high schools across the country. Partnered with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), 45 high school state athletic/activities associations, and PlayOn! Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Awards a tight one, but the results are in.

A state championship in girls’ volleyball helped Oviedo take the title in Class 9A with a score of 138.8.

Several State Series appearances by St. Thomas Aquinas gave the school a leg up on its competition in Class 8A. The Raiders took first place with a score of 205.5.

South Florida remained dominant through the 7A and 6A classes as well. Doral Academy (Miami) beat out Sunlake (Land O’ Lakes) for 7A with a score of 115.8, while American Heritage (Plantation) continued its win streak by taking its eighth title in a row (143.5) for 6A.

While Florida High made the 5A Public competition a close one, Coral Springs Charter dominated the girls’ category and came out on top with a score of 75.0.

North Florida had some strong representation in the private classes, with two Jacksonville schools taking the crown. Bolles (Jacksonville) swept Class 5A Private for the second year in a row (223.5). Their neighbors, Providence (Jacksonville), edged out Lakeland Christian with a score of 88.5 to take the 4A/3A Private overall title.

The 4A/3A/2A Public overall title remains in North Florida. P.K. Yonge beat out the competition in all 3 categories (boys, girls, & overall) to stay on top with a score of 51.0.

With back to back State Championships in baseball comes back to back All-Sports Award wins. Miami Christian continues its reign as the 2A Private overall champion (55.0).

Class 1A was the closest race of the year, with only two points deciding the winner. Trenton (63.8) hung on by a thread to beat out Madison County for the title.

For the 2018-19 school year, the 705 member senior high schools have been divided into nine classifications for administrative purposes based on the enrollments submitted to the FHSAA Office in October 2014, which were used to discern the classifications as they are drawn up now (as per basketball).

In accordance with a Board mandate at its November 2002 meeting and a restructuring prior to the 2011-12 school year with the addition of the rural classification, Classes 2A-5A are further subdivided into public and private categories. Due to a lack of eligible schools for this year, classes 2A-4A Public and classes 3A & 4A private schools were each combined into one category. An All Sports award will be presented for each of these 10 categories in overall, girls and boys divisions at the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year.

Points are awarded to a school based on its finish in FHSAA State Series competition in each sport in the classification in which it has been assigned to compete. The top 16 places are scored. In all sports with team scores, points are awarded as follows: 20 for the state champion, 12 for the state runner-up, 9 for the state semifinalists, 6 for 5-8th places, and 3 for 9-16th ejection/unsporting conduct incident; 0.5 for Level 2 student-athlete ejection/unsporting conduct incident; 1.0 for Level 3 student-athlete ejection/unsporting conduct incident; 2.5 for Level 4 Rozelle Sportsmanship Awards https://www.fhsaa.org/news/2017/0612
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (6/12/17) – The Florida High School Athletic Association announced Monday the recipients of this year’s Fred E. Rozelle Sportsmanship Awards. The FHSAA promotes sportsmanship both on and off the field and wants to recognize the schools that portray these ideals. The award is given to schools whose athletic teams demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship during the 2016-2017 regular season as well as FHSAA State Series competition. This year, fifteen high schools and two middle schools received the prestigious award.

The format of how the award is given was changed for the 2016-2017 school year. Instead of section and overall winners, like in previous years, the FHSAA elected to name a first place and runner up winner for each classification. For the third straight year Episcopal (Jacksonville) has placed after winning two straight in 4A, and runner up this year in 5A. Weston Christion, after winning their section the past three years, placed runner up in the middle school category.

“Good sportsmanship gives student-athletes, coaches, fans, and family members the opportunity to enjoy a more wholesome environment in which all can share a better experience," FHSAA Executive Director Dr. Roger Dearing said. "We strive to instill this principal into all of our athletes in the state of Florida. These habits can be used well-beyond the confines of a stadium or ballpark. We are happy to recognize these schools and their student-athletes who exemplify not only sportsmanship, but teamwork and citizenship as well."

The award, presented annually since 1991, is named in honor of FHSAA Commissioner Emeritus Fred E. Rozelle. The overall classification recipient is presented to one school in each classification whose total sports program best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship as demonstrated by its coaches, players and spectators. Awards are also given to a runner up within each classification. Criteria for selection of the winners includes programs and activities implemented within the school and community to promote sportsmanship; the number and type of technical fouls received; the number and type of exceptional sportsmanship reports; and the source of the nomination.

Classification runner-ups will each receive $500 and a commemorative plaque. Each classification winner will receive $2,500 and a plaque.

The schools receiving the FHSAA/Fred E.
